When do I need to arrive on the event?
Full monster and Swim competitors need to arrive at Loch Ness before 11am on Sunday the 22nd of June 2025.
Safety & Emergency
The Event Team includes medics, who are on hand to help you with scrapes and bruises of all sizes. They also know all the nearest hospitals all along the route.
Before you set off on each day the event, you will be given a briefing - to make sure you enjoy a healthy and safe day.
Do I need insurance?
We highly recommend that riders take out suitable insurance to cover themselves and their bikes during, and in the lead, up to the event. If riders are suitably insured, they will be covered should they have to pull out for any reason and we will provide the necessary documentation to give to their insurers to be reimbursed the entry fee. We cannot personally give advice on this but your insurers should be able to advise you on suitable cover.
What should I pack?
As with all outdoor events, it’s wise to dress for all eventualities!
As well as your favourite swimming, cycling and running gear, we advise that you pack enough changes of clothes for your chosen number of days, towel, sun cream, hats, insect repellent, comfortable footwear.
Do I need a Wetsuit?
Wetsuits are compulsory for the swim element of the event.
What if the event is cancelled - when and how will we be informed?
If the event is cancelled, for whatever reason, you will be contacted by email as soon as possible. Depending on when the decision is made to cancel, you will be sent a second email two days before the event date.
If the event is cancelled less than 10 days before the scheduled first day (due to weather or any other factor beyond our control), you will also be emailed.
You will receive a full refund of your ticket price - less any payment transaction fee (which is kept by a third party).

Is it a competitive event?
Well, it is and it isn’t. No part of the Monster Triathlon will be officially timed – but we would love to keep a record of anyone who decides to time themselves.
What information will we get about taking part?
You will receive a welcome email before the event covering travel, what to bring, maps, directions and so on. On arrival at the event, each participant will be given a Monster Triathlon Guide – containing detailed maps, tips on safety, emergency contact details and lots more.
Are there any age restrictions to participating?
This event is only open to people over the age of 18.
